Architecture, hiring bars and shipped code — rentably.
I plug into startups as their part-time CTO: architecture, hiring, technical due diligence. My twiin handles the questions I answer twenty times a week.

Where I plug in as a fractional CTO
Three modes: (1) 0→1 — pick the stack, set the architecture, hire the first three engineers; (2) cleanup — teams of 5–15 drowning in their own system; (3) due diligence — technical reviews for investors before term sheets. 15 years of engineering, two exits as VP Eng, currently 3–4 companies at a time, never more.
Should we build a monolith or microservices?
Below roughly 10 engineers: a modular monolith, every time. Draw your module boundaries honestly (auth, billing, core domain), enforce them with lint rules, and split out a service only when a module has genuinely different scaling needs or its own team. I have unwound four premature microservice setups this year alone — every one cost more than the monolith ever would have.
What does a fractional CTO cost?
€7k/month for two dedicated days a week plus async Slack access, 3-month minimum. Technical due-diligence reviews are €3.5k flat with a written report in five business days. First intro call is free — bring your hardest architecture question and test me.
